2022 Art Show Entry Form: Click Here

Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled DVC art students. The work must have been created by DVC art students within the last year at DVC with the assistance of faculty and staff, no matter if you have been taking classes in person or online.

If you are currently taking classes online you must go to the DVC COVID-19 Safety page and download the CCCCD app, follow the safety protocols before entering the campus.

Show title: 2022 Student Art Show 

Entry dates: April 4-12
Online entry (Digital artwork): Fill out online entry form, email artwork to aking@dvc.edu
Physical entry: Deliver artwork to the Art Gallery, Room A301 in the Art Building, adjacent to parking lot #8, 10am-2pm M-F only

In gallery exhibition dates: April 19-May 10, 2022

Online exhibition dates: April 19-June 30, 2022

Award Ceremony: May 5, in the Art Quad

Awards announced: May 5, 12:30pm, awards will be announced in person in the DVC Art Quad and on the DVC website and through social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram & Twitter.

Presidents Art Award: 2-3 students will have the opportunity to have artwork purchased by the school, added to the schools permanent art collection and receive a Presidents Art Award certificate. All work entered into the show will be up for consideration. Students will only receive money if ownership of the artwork is transferred to the school. Students declining to sell work will receive a Presidents Art Award certificate.

Faculty Award: Winners are chosen by discipline, 50.00 grand prize awards and runners up.

Student Choice Award: Students may vote for one favorite work. The winner will receive a prize pack of art materials. To vote for student choice award email the name and title of the work and your student ID#
to: aking@dvc.edu One vote per student.

Entry fee: None 

Artwork accepted includes: Drawing, Painting, Cartooning, Illustration, Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry, Printmaking, traditional Photography, Digital Photography, Animation and video.

Photos may be submitted as:

  • Photos of work must be 300 dpi, jpg or png. Image size should be no larger than 6” x 6”

  • Photos of the artwork may be vertical or horizontal in orientation.


Video may be submitted as:
• A 3 second looping gif.
• A 12 second (MAX) mp4 video.
Must be formatted for standard mp4, YouTube 1080p

Physical Entries:

1. Physical artwork must be submitted to the physical gallery, Room A301 in the Art Building, adjacent to parking lot #8, April 4-12, 10am-2pm M-F only.

2. Accepting: 2-D and 3-D work

3. All 2-D work must be framed and matted. (contact Arthur King for options and questions).

4. Artwork entered into the show may be used for promotional or educational purposes.

5. The Gallery will not be selling artwork, if someone is interested in the work presented, the interested parties information will be passed onto the artist.

2D Work:
1. Materials can be but are not limited to: Paper, Paint, Graphite, Pastel, collage, inking, photoshop, illustrator.

2. If the work is a diptych or triptych it should be labeled as such with one title and the order of presentation.

3D Work:
Materials can be but are not limited to: steel, wood, clay, found objects. If a special set up is needed, the artist may need to assist with the setup.
