”My work is a response to media that mystified the West and deeply affected the identities of Americans like my family. By studying frontier ballads, Hollywood Westerns, FSA photographs, and more, I identify the archetypal structures, personas, and symbols that remain consistent across Western media and apply them to my work.”

ARTDM-105. Introduction to Digital Imaging
This digital painting is a self-portrait. One of the most important things in portraits is to convey an emotion, mood. The idea of this portrait is to show who I am. Tender, naive and dreaming person. I hope viewers are able to see it in my work.

ARTDM-105-3594 Introduction to Digital Imaging
My digital illustration was inspired by my love of stained glass and serene koi ponds. My process began by sketching out ideas by hand using good old fashion pencil on paper. When I finally had a composition of my koi pond idea that I liked I inked it using illustration pens. Then I scanned it into the computer and used Photoshop to incorporate a collection of my original photographs to give each part of the illustration a visually appealing texture while maintaining a nice balance within the overall design.

I've always been drawn to the surreal and subconscious in our dreams. Dreams can feel more familiar to me than reality itself and represent a place of eternal solace. The figure symbolizes the common "falling" dream many of us have experienced, illuminating human collective consciousness.

ARTDM-214: Intro to Graphic Design
Instructor: Bill Thomas
This piece is a collage of separate images of the same person with inter-spliced facial features and varying blending options, creating a coagulation of translucent textures. The sparse influence of rigidity in the piece comes from the abundant reaching hands, not fighting to rest their palms against the figure's face.

This was done with coffee stained on mixed media paper. I was inspired by the coffee stained images after the paper dried. The images presented gave me so much inspiration and rules from the assignment were not followed. This is truly an eye opening project for me to discover I have wild imagination. It is also good to know sometimes it is good to brake
the rules.
