Statement:
The artist used an artwork by one of his mentors, Bay Area legend Robert Bechtle, for an experiment with using AI to deconstruct the image and uncover alternative meanings and interpretations. The resulting piece is questioning the relationship between portraiture and abstraction, as well as viewers relationship with human likeness.
