Spring 2022
This piece was inspired by Greek and Roman sculpture and its modern resurgence. The title means "Flower and City" and refers to Flora, the goddess of spring. The solidity of the bust contrasts with the delicate nature of the flowers, suggesting a more philosophical contrast between body and spirit.

This goose form that I constructed is mainly an exploration into the simplification of an organic form, mainly regarding how much I can convey with a piece using the fewest materials and stylistic complications and focusing on negative space. I intended to depict the idea of not being able to speak up for oneself, as can be seen from the goose’s neck being bent down.
